Accessibility Statement
The Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) is responsible for the content of this website and is committed to making it accessible in accordance with the Federal Act on Barrier-Free Access to Websites and Mobile Applications of the Federal Government (Web Accessibility Act – WZG), Federal Law Gazette I No. 59/2019 as amended. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) supports the BMI in maintaining the content of the website.
This accessibility statement applies to the website www.returnfromaustria.at.
Status of Compliance with the Requirements
Due to the following incompatibilities and exceptions, this website is partially compliant with conformity level AA of the “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.1” and with the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) pursuant to Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
Non-Accessible Content
The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:
- Non-compliance with accessibility requirements
In the case of multilingual content, language markup may occasionally be missing or insufficient. As a result, WCAG 2.1 success criterion 3.1.2 “Language of Parts” is not fully met.
Subtitles are available in all website languages for the explanatory video; however, they may not be fully technically accessible to screen readers. The audio track is available only in German and English. This may result in limitations in comprehensibility for other language versions. This particularly concerns the requirements of WCAG 2.1 success criteria 1.2.2 “Captions (Prerecorded)”, 1.2.3 “Audio Description or Media Alternative (Prerecorded)” and 1.2.5 “Audio Description (Prerecorded)”. Upon request, we can provide the content of the video in a suitable text format. Content outside the scope of application
The PDF documents provided on the website by third parties are partly not accessible. For example, WCAG 2.1 success criterion 4.1.2 “Name, Role, Value” is not consistently met in all documents.

Enforcement Procedure
If you are not satisfied with the response received through the contact option mentioned above, you may submit a complaint to the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG). The FFG accepts complaints electronically via the complaint body’s contact form.
The complaints are examined by the FFG to determine whether they relate to violations of the requirements of the Web Accessibility Act, in particular deficiencies in compliance with the accessibility requirements, by the Federal Government or an institution attributable to it.
If the complaint is justified, the FFG must make recommendations to the Federal Government or the legal entities concerned and propose measures to remedy such deficiencies.
